Two and a half rides

This week was a funny one.

My thumb was still hurting, so had to take everything easy. Thursday I went out with Kate again. The aim this week was to try longer descents. We tried the popular Nomad trail from top to bottom, running the top section twice but splitting the bottom with Nomad bottom into Hips and Whips or GoMad.

There had been a bit of recent rain so the trails were greasy but it was an awesome night.

Took this photo from Highcliffe Nab.

Friday I took the day off work, in the aim to get some sort of epic ride done. Weather wasnt playing ball though.

Went round my good mate Milly’s house, and whilst waiting for the rain to pass a bit of lethargy set it. In the end we got up and got out and boy it was worth it. Superb ride taking in some of the best moorland trails. Weather was mixed so the old waterproofs made an appearance.

Lastly Sunday. The plan was to get out on the road bike, 20 mile, café stop, 20 mile back. Simple.

Nope, broken chain stopped play. Bit gutted as I was feeling strong, setting a PR up Weary Bank, but hey thats life. The silver lining was I got back in time to watch the world champs downhilling.

Congrats to Loic Bruni and Rachel Atherton!
